*PopMart - America

post under construction...

Tour Legs: This program is from the first leg of the Popmart Tour from 1997.  This leg of the tour covered North America although it did list concert dates in Europe as well as some of the countries that the tour intended to go to as part of the Rest of the World legs 4 & 5.

This leg of the tour started in Las Vegas at the Sam Boyd Stadium on 25 April 1997 and finished up with the second of two shows at Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro on 2 July 1997.

Dates covered in program:
25 Apr 1997 - 2 July 1997 (North America)
18 Jul 1997 - 30 Sep 1997 (Europe, including the final show in Israel)
26 Oct 1997 - 12 Dec 1997 (North America)
1998 - a list of countries 'Also Playing'...no dates

There are a few discrepencies in the program dates to those actually played.  They are:

29 May 1997 concert scheduled at Carter Finley Stadium in Raleigh was cancelled altogether due to wind damage to the video screen.
3 June 1997 a third concert was added at Giants Stadium, New York.
19 June 1997 a second concert was added at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland
29 June 1997 a third concert was added at Soldier Field, Chicago.

New Zealand and Hawaii were not toured as part of this tour despite being listed on the 'Also Playing' list for 1998.
No. of pages: 34 pages (including the fold out section in the middle of the program and the fold out page at the back of the program.
Size: 30.5cm x 24.5cm
Printing: Printed on high gloss crisp card paper.  The metallic looking 'Pop' insignia on the cover if perforated and there is a pop up Edge cut out on the inside back cover fold out.
An item of note is that The Edge is photographed in this program without his trademark headwear.  It's quite possible that he's had some hair replacement work done!
Cost: Somehow I ended up with 2 of these.  One costing $30USD and the other $19.99USD, both on ebay.  Can be regularly be found on ebay on auction starting from $1.  One thing to make sure of though is to ask the seller if the program lists the Raleigh concert.  If it doesn't then it would be the program for legs 2 & 3 of the tour.
