The 360º Tour - 2009-2011

post under construction...

The 360º tour started on 29 Jun 2009 at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain and is scheduled to finish on 30 Jul 2011 at the Magnetic Hill Music Festival Site in Moncton, Canada. This 3 year tour comprises of 7 legs and eclipses the ZOO TV tour as the longest tour in terms of beginning and end but will only come in as 5th in terms of the actual number of concerts played on tour.

Leg 1 (Europe) - 29 Jun 2009 to 22 Aug 2009 (25 shows)
Leg 2 (North America) - 12 Sep 2009 to 28 Oct 2009 (20 shows)
Leg 3 (Europe) - 6 Aug 2010 to 8 Oct 2010 (22 shows)
Leg 4 (New Zealand & Australia) - 25 Nov 2010 to 19 Dec 2010 (10 shows)
Leg 5 (South Africa) - 13 Feb 2011 to 18 Feb 2011 (2 shows)
Leg 6 (South America) - 25 Mar 2011 to 13 Apr 2011 (7 shows)
Leg 7 (North America) - 11 May 2011 to 30 Jul 2011 (25 shows)

The 360º tour was initially in support of the 2009 album No Line on the Horizon, however in the later legs of the tour only a handful of songs from the album are played. It is rumoured that U2 are writing a new album during the tour and some unreleased songs have already been played at concerts in the second half of the tour.

On this tour U2 have re-undertaken the task of building a set design, this time in the shape of a massive claw in which the band play underneath on a round stage hence the audience are seated in 360º (in the round) of the band. Again, new technology is used on the impressive video screen that expands down above the band in a honeycomb effect. Due to the size of the stage set, this tour is a all outdoor stadium tour.

There are 6 tour programs for this tour. They are:

Leg 1 - 2009 European Tour
Leg 2 - 2009 US Tour
Leg 3 - 2010 Europe Tour
Leg 4 - 2010 Australian Tour
Legs 5 & 6 - 2011 South Africa and South America
Leg 7 - 2011 North America Tour
